As a general rule, most companies have a contact form so you can get in touch with them and even send your resume. Some also have a specific page on which they regularly publish job offers.

However, each company is different so you’ll have to find out what you can do by visiting the websites of the companies you’d like to work for.

Sometimes you can send them your CV through e-mail, but they usually ask you to fill out a form with your personal information, studies, experience, etc. just like job search portals.

Today, practically every professional area has its own website: Journalism, Medicine, Finance… the ones with most pages are, of course, those dedicated to Computer Science and Technology.

In addition, you can find jobs for executives, freelancers, or part-time jobs for people without experience.

These aptitude tests, like job interviews, can be taken individually or in groups and can have different purposes, depending on the company and the position. Usually they all have the same goal, to find out the applicants’ abilities for teamwork and leadership, their emotional stability, personal and professional motivations, among others.

What are they going to ask me?

In every psychometric test, you’ll probably find questions about what your ideal job would be like. They may also ask you to describe your family and maybe even, draw some members, including yourself. Usually you also have to copy lines and shapes from a series of cards you’ll be given.

Finally, in many tests you’ll have to write a short story, maybe related to your drawings or as an answer to a question.

Remember: There are no right or wrong answers, you can’t study for these tests. However, we offer some tips that could be useful:

• When you take the test, be sure to be well rested, relaxed and with a clear head. Don’t feel too anxious or nervous.

• Read the instructions carefully. If you have any doubts, you should solve them before you start, asking the recruiter.

• Be honest, don’t try to pretend being something your’re not. Sincerity is key when answering about your personality.

• If you get stuck, move on to the next question. There’s usually little time to do the test, so you probably won’t be able to do it completely but don’t worry, the importance of the test isn’t in answering all the questions and doing all the drawings, it’s the conclusion the recruiters come to after they evaluate the test. This is what will tell them if you’re the person they’re looking for.

Before August 1, 2008 the minimum wage was (Argentine) $ 980 per hour of work. However, a raise was recently approved, to $ 1,200 from August 2008 and to $ 1,240 starting December 2008.
