The CV in Portugal
Usually, a Portuguese CV is written in chronological order and is 2 or 3 pages long. Ocasionally, it includes a photograph.
It should consist of the following sections:
- Personal information.
- Studies (including subjects).
- Courses and seminars from work (separate from working experience).
- Working experience.
- Hobbies.
Try to give a clear presentation and structure to your CV. Put emphasis on all the courses and seminars you’ve attended in your previous jobs. This way you show your previous employers trusted your skills were good enough for them.
It’s not common in Portugal to use a CV with an American format which includes the candidate’s professional goal.
