Which CV format is better for me?
We’ve seen there are different ways to organize your CV: chronological, functional or combined-mixed. Each type of CV emphasizes different aspects of the candidate’s studies or experience. That’s why, depending on your particular case, you’ll choose one or the other. We want to help you find the right one for you:
- If you’ve just finished your studies or don’t have any experience
You have to make sure your potential and abilities show despite your lack of experience. That’s why it’s really important to work on the skills and knowledge section, achievements while you were studying, travelling, languages… For all this, the best CV format would be the functional one.
- If you’re an experienced professional
If you’ve been working for some time and have experienced an advance in your professional career, you’ll be interested in making it stand out. The best choice would be a chronological CV or maybe a mixed one, since this one shows not only skills but also goals and achievements, promotions and development of your professional career.
- If you’re a freelancer
In this case, you’d be also interested in the functional CV, since it focuses on achievements in leadership or management positions, problems solved, projects you’ve developed and team-leading ability.
